My Concussion Sketchbook
On May 22, 2023 I hit my head. I was immediately stunned, had to take a knee, and fight back tears. Within 30 minutes my head was pounding and I was super nauseous. About 15-20 minutes later I was in the ER with a mild concussion. I avoided all screens or anything that would tax my brain. After a couple of days of rest, I slowly took myself outside to sit in the light and I took very short walks. As my mind felt a little less foggy, thoughts wandered to the set of watercolors I purchased for a class that never happened. I decided why not play with color, shapes and lines. My Concussion Sketchbook has been an interesting exploration that has inspired me to stay loose and have fun in the process. You can learn more in my Artist Statement and Bio.
